I think I have a good sense of humour. My friends tend to laugh a lot whenever I am around.
Thinking about that, I hope that they were laughing at my jokes and not at me.
Although I think I’m funny, I’m nowhere near the level of some of the tweets I found from two of the funniest Twitter contests around.
1. Twitter Caption Contest
@TodayShow recently did a caption contest where users had to show their wittiness by tweeting an entertaining caption of a photo provided on their website. The contest was open only to their followers, so users needed to be a follower of @todayshow. They were then required to tweet using the hashtag: #captiontoday to qualify.
The winner would win amazing VIP passes to the Today Show Pitbull concert in New York!
Amongst hundreds of entries and entertainers, @KareneHowell took home the VIP passes with her tweet:

2. Twitter Joke Contest
If you think you’re funny by nature and you can do better, then you might be interested to join this Twitter Joke Contest. Beginning 13th May 2012, @KlondikeBar launched a contest where users are required to submit an original joke complete with the hashtag: #KCS.
At the end of each week, one winner will be selected for the finals who will do battle with other finalists throughout the 10 week contest. A total of 10 comedians and comediennes would stand a chance to win a shout-out from Rob Delaney to over 417,000 followers!
The winner would also receive a 5 Days – 4 Nights VIP trip for two to New York to attend the New York Comedy Festival in November. Did I also mention that they would also be given $500 spending money?
Here is the first week’s winning tweet:
My grandmother’s like an iPhone; we’re constantly misplacing her, and she’s always just about to die #KCS ~ @JonasPolsky
Here is one that caught my attention
I guess maybe Al Gore did invent the internets, because they seem to be broken. #KCS rt ~ @the_treedweller
While contests aren’t new on Twitter, I think that comedic contests are just that much fresh-er compared to the usual contests. Even people who are not planning on joining could simply have a good time reading the jokes by searching their hashtags.
What do you think of these jokers?
